Was a pretty uneventful day on the road and made it to Amarillo in very good time.  The winds upon my arrival were quite strong and continue to be as I write this.  Once I was checked in and set up, I headed over to Palo Duro Canyon State Park about a half hour away.  It was a gorgeous day here in the 70's despite the wind and I was overdressed expecting colder weather.  Had fun running up and down the canyon taking photos and doing a bit of hiking.  Left about a half hour before sunset since the skies did not look like it would be much of a show tonight.  By the time I arrived back at the campground it was just getting to be sunset and as I expected it was a bit lackluster tonight.  I have included a few shots that I took in the canyon.  I have to let you know that the pictures I will be posting in this blog will be from my iphone unless otherwise noted.

Nice photos Dave. It always seems to amaze me that no matter how far out in the wilderness you seem to go, there are always footprints and bike trails everywhere. Nice to know that people are enjoying our wonderful country. God Bless!

Nice images Dave. Maybe you don't need that Canon! Something caught my eye in the last image - on the left side about the 9 o'clock position something that looks like either a pen or an old building can be seen. Do you recall what that was? BTW - I really like images that keep drawing my eyes back in, looking for more detail. This one is an example of such an image! Enjoy your trip and good chatting this morning.
